Biography

Mrs. Iqra Hamayoun is the Health Information Systems MAP Clinic Coordinator in the Department of Health Administration and Policy. Hamayoun also serves as the Clinical Informatics Data Manager and HAP Preceptor for the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics, Population Health Center, and special projects operating through the college. Hamayoun’s research interests include working with vulnerable populations and analyzing community and population-based healthcare to create better services for underserved patient populations.

Hamayoun started her journey with Mason during her undergraduate degree, fell in love with the community within, and never left! After conducting her clinical informatics internship with MAP, she never left her home away from home. Hamayoun proceeded to grow with the clinics starting as the Health Informatics Supervisor, HAP Preceptor, and now Clinical Informatics Data Manager while obtaining her master’s degree in Health Informatics. Prior to coming to Mason, Hamayoun worked in the health field providing administrative support and EMR management to medical facilities.

As a part of the Mason community, Hamayoun was working with the MAP Clinics through her undergraduate degree and her Masters degree as a preceptor for undergraduate and graduate capstone students. She worked her way up from intern, to preceptor, to data manager and now faculty for Mason.

Biography

Isela Caballero is the Communications Coordinator of the Department of Health Administration and Policy. In her role, Isela supports external communications, event and meeting management, social media, and office operations. Prior to working at ��ӽ紫ý, she obtained years of customer service, healthcare administration, and technology experience. She earned her B.S. in Community Health with a concentration in Global Health (2017) at ��ӽ紫ý.

Health Administration and Policy (HAP) Department Manager Tracy Shevlin was honored with the Mason Staff Alumni Award at Mason’s 2022 Outstanding Achievement Awards.

Shevlin was nominated by her peers in HAP who are grateful for her hard work and dedication to bettering the department.

“Tracy is the heart of the Health Administration and Policy Department. For more than a decade, she has kept us on track and organized with her can-do attitude and Patriot spirit. The department could not run without her!” said P.J. Maddox, HAP Department Chair.

Shevlin has worked in the department for 14 years supporting students and faculty with administrative tasks such as events, onboarding, scheduling, and budgeting. She holds a bachelor of arts in Business Communication from Mason.

The Staff Alumni Award is awarded to a Mason alumnus who is currently working for Mason. Alumni of ��ӽ紫ý currently working for Mason are a special group of employees who are proud to call themselves Patriots. Their hard work and contributions to the university community are a reflection of their unique perspectives as former students and current employees. This award pays tribute to this special population of employees. The Outstanding Achievement Awards celebrate the hard work, dedication and achievements of Mason’s faculty and staff across several awards categories and support Mason’s values and mission.

Biography

Mr. Allan Weiss is a proud alumnus of Mason, earning his bachelor's degree in community/public health. His primary role in the Department of Health Administration and Policy (HAP) as their Administration and Academic Program Specialist is to manage accreditation initiatives and contracts for HAP internship and practica experiential learning.

Mr. Weiss was the former Department Manager of Global and Community Health (GCH) for the past 20 years and is one of their founding members.

Prior to joining GCH as their Department Manager, Mr. Weiss co-coordinated a five-year multi-million-dollar grant venture to train second-degree expatriates from Jordan, United Arab Emerites, Oman and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In 2000, he worked closely with the College of Public Health (then CNHS) Dean Rita M. Carty, Drs. Margaret Moss and Lorraine Rudowski to graduate second-degree students. He has been integral to the revamping of the college from a College of Nursing and Health Science to a College of Health and Human Services to a College of Public Health, is a founding member of the Department of Global and Community Health and served in many capacities within the college such as with the School of Nursing-Nurse Practitioner program.

Mr. Weiss is a certified personal and group fitness instructor, maintains certification in CPR and AED and is trained in Opioid prevention with Naloxone. He is an avid Obstacle Course Racer and enjoys spending time outdoors with his three daughters.
