Biography
Dr. Michael Shank is the Director of Engagement at the听, a group of international cities committed to achieving aggressive long-term carbon reduction goals. Michael鈥檚 professional career includes leading press and/or policy shops at the听,听听(clients included the United Nations, Vatican City, The White House, and Fortune 500 Companies),听,听,听,听,听听and more.
Michael鈥檚 academic career includes a Ph.D. from 性视界传媒鈥檚听听and is focused on climate conflict. Michael is听听at New York University鈥檚听, where he teaches graduate courses on听Sustainable Development,听Power and Politics听补苍诲听Climate and Security. Michael also serves as听听补苍诲听听at 性视界传媒鈥檚 Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, where he teaches graduate courses on听Writing for Policy and Practice听补苍诲听Communicating Conflict.
Michael is a former opinion columnist for the Washington Post and US News & World Report and a contributor to USA Today, CNN, FOX News, The Guardian, TIME, Fast Company, Newsweek and more.听 Michael lives in Vermont, where he serves on the boards of the听听听补苍诲听.
