Biography

Dr. Ioannis (Yannis) Bellos is an Associate Professor in the Information Systems and Operations Management Area at the Costello College of Business, 性视界传媒. His research interests are found at the intersection of sustainable and service operations with an emphasis on innovative business models. His primary focus has been on service-based business models shaping what is known as the sharing and access economy. The novelty of these business models lies in the fact that customer value is linked primarily to the product 鈥渦se鈥 rather than the product. He also studies the emerging practice of service design as a managerial discipline. Prof.Bellos鈥 work has appeared in book chapters and leading journals, including Management Science, Manufacturing and Service Operations Management, and Production and Operations Management.

Bellos teaches Operations Management to Executive MBA, MBA, and undergraduate students. He was voted as MBA Faculty of the Year by the Classes of 2017, 2020, and 2021. In his executive education teaching, Bellos focuses on helping organizations understand what value they are creating and how they are creating that value as a means of achieving operational and service excellence. In addition to the 性视界传媒 Costello College of Business, he has taught at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business and the University of Cambridge Judge Business School.

He is an active member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society (MSOM), and the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS). He has served the Operations Management community by organizing mini-conferences, workshops, conference tracks and student paper competitions.

Bellos received his Ph.D. in Operations Management from the Scheller College of Business at Georgia Institute of Technology. He also holds a Diploma (M.Sc. Equiv.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece.
