Vision Series with听Djola听Branner 鈥 Real Characters, Imagined Events: Celebrities and Historic Figures as Fodder for the Stage听

The next Vision Series event will feature听Djola Branner, director of Mason's School of Theater,听on Wednesday, Dec. 7, from 7鈥8 p.m. From ancient Greek myths to Broadway musicals such as听Hamilton,听Tina, and听Evita, audiences love stories rooted in historic fact.听Branner will examine how contemporary playwrights and directors are weaving fact and fiction and creating theater that is entertaining, thought provoking, and inspiring.

The Vision Series will be live streamed through听. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in the discussion by听submitting questions via email听or Twitter using #VisionSeriesMason.听.


MyHub for Office 365

Information Technology Services (ITS) recently launched , a new tool within the Office 365 environment that serves as a convenient, one-stop shop for managing existing workspaces and creating new ones.

In January 2023, MyHub will become the standard way to create new workspaces. To prepare and begin using MyHub, see To learn about the different workspaces you can create, review .

Parking and Transportation Holiday Donation Drive听

Would you like to help someone in need? Parking Services is holding its annual holiday donation drive. Now through Dec. 15 at 4 p.m., you can reduce the cost of an outstanding parking citation by听making a donation听to benefit the Patriot Pantry. New Sessions Added: Engagement Strategies for Supervisors

Supervisors are encouraged to join an interactive session focused on faculty and staff engagement. Participants will take part in discussions surrounding Gallup survey engagement data and current best practices as well as learn new strategies to enhance the faculty and staff experience at Mason.

Mental Health First Aid

Learn how to help people you know who are suffering from a mental health crisis. Discover ways to reduce the stigma and develop a strategy for helping through an upcoming听听session for Mason students and employees.

Crucial Conversations Workshop: Mastering Dialogue

Join the Organizational Development and Learning team on Dec.听6 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.听to learn how to turn disagreement into dialogue for improved relationships and results.

Facilitated by certified trainers, Crucial Conversations for Mastering Dialogue is an engaging classroom course rich with group discussion, real-time practice, and coaching.听Whenever you鈥檙e not getting the results you want, it鈥檚 likely that an important conversation either hasn鈥檛 happened, or hasn鈥檛 been handled well. In fact, both personal and organizational success are largely determined by how quickly, directly, and effectively we speak up when it matters most.

Commuter Choice Benefit Increasing in 2023

Beginning in January 2023, the maximum Commonwealth Commuter Choice benefit at Mason will increase by $20 to $300 per month. Currently, an Executive Order gives full-time state employees in Northern Virginia up to $280 per month to commute by public transit or vanpool.听This is a tax-free benefit paid by the university.

To take advantage of this increase beginning with the January benefit, be sure to submit your Commuter Choice Monthly Benefit Request form by Thursday, Dec. 8.听If you are new to the program, please also submit an Enrollment Form.

Post Black Friday Closet Exchange

Got any extra garments, or听wantnew ones? Students, faculty, and staff are invited to drop off and grab clothing items at the Post Black Friday Closet Exchange on Thursday, Dec. 1, from 1鈥6 p.m. at the Corner Pocket in The Hub.

Moving Story Musical Theater Intensive

Mason Community Arts Academy and Moving Story are excited to announce the听Moving Story Musical Theater Intensive workshop听hosted in January 2023.
