The start of a new school year also means new听!听After two seasons of a pandemic-related hiatus, in-person field trip performances return, and the Hylton Center eagerly and safely welcomes students and teachers back. The Education Initiative continues to build upon recent programming, including听activities with Artists-in-Residence, masterclasses, and virtual field trips developed over the past two years. This year we will host field trip performances with听Hylton Presents听补苍诲听American Roots Series听artists for local students. American Roots Series听artist Terrance Simien & the Zydeco Experience听will also lead听a week of community engagement activities听during their residency.听Virtual field trip artists Sonia De Los Santos and Kattam will introduce students to the sounds of Latin America and the rhythms of West Africa.听These virtual field trips are open to public, private, and homeschool groups in Prince William County, the City of Manassas, and the City of Manassas Park.
